Rather than dropping such a harmful bomb on the people of Hiroshima, the Americans could have chosen another method of attacking the Japanese. Such as, choosing a more traditional method of warfare as opposed to dropping a relatively new bomb which had not gone through enough experimenting and testing to reveal it's true potential of destroying the city of Hiroshima and it's people for years after the bomb was unleashed. Another method could have been sending in a land invasion of the city to ensure a more fair fight between the American and Japanese armies. When the bomb was dropped, it murdered not only those serving under the Japanese, but the civilians who had never gotten themselves involved with the war.
At the end of World War II, people questioned President Truman's decision to drop the atomic bomb on Hiroshima. But most Americans accepted that it was dropped to bring the war to a more timely end. They saw no true problem with over one hundred thousand of the enemy being killed, seeing as the Japanese attacked America, and not the other way around. Rather than sending out their troops to take down Hiroshima, they sat back as they dropped the bomb on an unsuspecting Japanese city. Taking out hundreds of thousands of Japanese citizens with that single bomb, and unknowingly ruining lives for generations to come.
